Plagiarism Policy
BJSTR Journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. We publish only original scholarly work and strictly prohibit plagiarism in any form. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be the authors’ own original work and must not contain copied content, manipulated data, or improperly attributed material.
Plagiarism is considered a serious violation of ethical publishing standards and may result in manuscript rejection, retraction of published articles, and further sanctions against the authors.
What Constitutes Plagiarism?
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Submitting another person’s work, ideas, data, or research as one’s own.
- Copying text, figures, tables, graphs, or images without proper citation or permission.
- Paraphrasing substantial portions of another work without acknowledgment.
- Using quotations without quotation marks or proper references.
- Providing misleading or incorrect source citations.
- Reusing significant parts of previously published work without disclosure (self-plagiarism).
- Duplicate or redundant publication of the same manuscript in multiple journals.
Similarity Screening
All manuscripts submitted to BJSTR Journal undergo plagiarism screening using professional similarity detection software such as Turnitin and iThenticate.
The editorial office evaluates the similarity report before the peer-review process begins. References, commonly used scientific phrases, and properly cited quotations may be excluded during assessment.
Acceptable Similarity Threshold
As a general guideline:
- Below 15% similarity: Usually acceptable, subject to editorial review
- 15–25% similarity: Manuscript may be returned for revision and resubmission
- Above 25% similarity: May lead to immediate rejection unless properly justified
Editors reserve the right to make case-by-case decisions based on the nature and extent of overlap.
Actions in Case of Plagiarism Before Publication
If plagiarism is detected during the review or editorial process:
- The manuscript will be examined to determine the extent of copied material.
- The corresponding author will be informed and asked for clarification.
- Authors may be asked to revise or rewrite plagiarized sections.
- Serious plagiarism may result in immediate rejection.
- Repeated offenses may lead to a submission ban for a specified period.
Actions in Case of Plagiarism After Publication
If plagiarism is discovered after publication:
- The journal will conduct a formal investigation.
- The authors will be contacted for explanation and supporting evidence.
- If plagiarism is confirmed, the article may be corrected, withdrawn, or retracted.
- A retraction notice will be published on the journal website.
- Authors’ institutions, funding agencies, or relevant bodies may be informed if necessary.
Author Responsibility
All authors are collectively responsible for ensuring the originality of their submitted work. By submitting a manuscript to BJSTR Journal, authors confirm that:
- The manuscript is original and unpublished.
- The work is not under review elsewhere.
- All borrowed material has been properly cited.
- Necessary permissions for copyrighted material have been obtained.
Failure to comply with this policy constitutes a breach of publication ethics.
Editorial Commitment
BJSTR Journal follows internationally accepted ethical publishing guidelines and supports transparent, fair, and rigorous editorial practices. The journal reserves full rights to take appropriate corrective action to protect the integrity of the scientific record.
