Abstract

Populations are aging throughout the world. As people age, their need for regular professional oral care and for home oral hygiene increases. Oral diseases have been linked to the increased incidence of certain systemic diseases and early mortality. Yet, the provision for satisfactory oral care for the elderly is often lacking.
