Every year our nation needs 5 crore units of blood where as we get half the quantity of blood. So 50% of people do not get the blood or their products in emergencies. There cannot be a substitute of blood. Every 2 seconds somebody needs blood or their products. To fulfill the need we need 38000 blood donors every day. One unit of blood can save 3 lives
