Short Communication

Since 2014 our innovative research team has developed a course of nursing practicum project production [1], transformed and evaluated this course into the capstone level [2], and finally tested the effectiveness of this course in terms of enhancing the creativity of nursing students [3]. Following the course of nursing practicum project production, our innovative research team has gained 15 patents. Table 1 showed the names, numbers, and maintaining periods of 15 patents [4-18]. Following the 15 patents, our research team started to consider the process of transforming these innovative patents into the clinical nursing practice. For instance, the following Table 2 showed the evidences-based research topics that could be conducted in the different population of various clinical settings in Taiwan.

Evidences-based practice and research are the essential focuses in the nursing professionals. However, the majority of literature on evidences-based were emphasized on the outcomes of patients' care, rather than the nursing skills or products. Instead of developing the innovative materials and products, the majority of studies still focused on the soft technologies so that a lack of clinical nursing studies were identified on the technological innovation [19]. The new era of nursing research is to develop the innovating research in team style to improve the quality of care in the clinical settings along with the communication and partnership-relationship contributing on the important keys for being successful in the changing and transforming process [20]. Our innovative research team is still a long-way to go for further testing the above 15 patents in the clinical settings or long-term care facilities to improve the quality of care for the hospitalized patients and elderly population.
